Lorde's next album, 'Solar Power,' is set to be released this summer, with tour dates set for 2022

For Lorde fans, the dog days of summer will have a silver lining: the release of her third album, “Solar Power,” on Aug. 20, her first in four years.

Meanwhile, when Lorde finally hits the road, the sun won't be quite as high in the sky. In the spring of 2022, she'll embark on a North American tour in support of the record, with dates beginning on April 3 at Nashville's Opry House and ending on May 7 at the Santa Barbara Bowl.

The Shrine in Los Angeles will host her performance on May 5. The tour's tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. local time on Friday, with shows in New Zealand and Australia before the American dates and a journey to Europe after the American shows.

“Solar Power” has a 12-track song list, with the title track published 11 days ago to coincide with a solar eclipse as a teaser of the album. Some of the song names, such as the concluding "Oceanic Feeling," suggest that the singer is in full summer mode on her first album since 2017's "Melodrama," with producer Jack Antonoff returning for the follow-up.

Lorde stated in a statement accompanying the news, "The album is a celebration of the natural world, an effort at immortalizing the profound, sublime sensations I experience when I'm outside."

“When I'm experiencing heartbreak, loss, profound love, or bewilderment, I turn to nature for solutions. I've figured out how to breathe out and tune in. “This is what I got,” she explained. “The first of the beams is the opening song (‘Solar Power.') It's all about that contagious, flirty summer vibe that hits us all in June.”

Lorde, on the other hand, isn't completely disc-free with her "Solar Power" release. Despite the fact that vinyl was not mentioned in the announcement, she has three distinct LP versions of the record for sale on her website (the most deluxe of which sold out within minutes of the album announcement).

The album track list is as follows: 1. The Path 2. Solar Power 3. California 4. Stoned in the Nail Salon 5. Fallen Fruit 6. Secrets From a Girl (Who’s Seen It All) 7. The Man with An Axe 8. Dominoes 9. Big Star 10. Leader of a New Regime 11. Mood Ring 12. Oceanic Feeling
